8traC is an Edgy Modern Funk band fronted by vocalist Chantel Mead. With a fresh sound and recent appearances alongside Kanye West, G. Love & Special Sauce, and Robert Randolph, 8traC is lighting new fires in the music world.
Fusing the sound of 70's funk roots with modern dance rock, 8traC delivers a sexy, high impact, socially aware sound. Dynamic female vocals paired with riffy guitar lines, rootsy bass, modern electronic loop arrangements, horns, and a heavyweight funkster on drums comprise the soul of 8traC. While Chantel - along with Derek VanScoten on Guitar/ Loops (Cabaret Diosa, The Motet, Devotchka) and Chris Misner on Drums - form the core inspiration of this group, Stefan Ferraro on Bass brings the bottom and Serafin Sanchez layers in the love on Saxophone and Keys.
