Sound Tribe Sector Nine
As our civilization moves ahead in time, one of the beautifully inevitable
facts is that our culture and art will continue to evolve. Soundtribe
Sector 9 is a band that brings this to life.
SoundTribe Sector 9 takes strong influences from both the long-standing
psychedelic jam band tradition and the toddler electronic music revolution.
The result is a wonderful mix of tribal, trancelike rhythms and progressive, yet
soulful melodies. And oh yeah, its got plenty of groove to shake yo' ass
to.
The year 2000 began for SoundTribe Sector 9 with the first studio effort of the
full five-piece line up. Entitled "Offered Schematics Suggesting
Peace", the album touches on everything from classical jazz
interludes to dance-floor beats with a strong dose of good old fashioned Jam.
Guest flutist Kofi Burbridge
combined with the band to produce a truly unique STS9 expression. From
tape loops to vinyl, this studio endeavor is a journey into the art of
recording.
