New Additions:

tynerth McCoy Tyner - Guitars CD - This recording is a studio throw-down with 5 of popular music's most accomplished string specialists: Derek Trucks, Bela Fleck, Bill Frisell, John Scofield, and Marc Ribot. The song stack covers the old and new. McCoy finds common ground alongside a group of handpicked guitar and banjo players. It's a meeting of the generations. The DVD/CD set includes a DVD documenting the making of the CD replete with studio performances, chatter, and viewer options for what to see and where to look.

brownxmasthAlison Brown - Evergreen CD - Alison and the band went into the Compass studio to record some of their favorite tunes from their Winter's Eve holiday program and the result is "Evergreen." This 10-track collection (expanded and repackaged from the 2007 EP version) includes fun and imaginative re-workings of holiday classics with that distinctive Alison Brown Quartet sound. Fiddler/mandolinist Joe Craven is the special guest throughout and singers from the University School of Nashville joins the band on 2 tracks.  A unique holiday offering for fans of acoustic music.  $16.98

David Gans CDDavid Gans - The Ones That Look the Weirdest Taste the Best CD - Recorded with Railroad Earth violinist (and occasional Dharma Bum) Tim Carbone on Tim's turf near the Delaware Water Gap, along with a remarkable cadre of musical pals including mandolin wizard John Skehan III, multi-instrumentalist Andy Goessling, bassist Lindsey Horner, and demon steel (lap and pedal) player Buck Dilly. Loaded with lyrically piercing songs, including a dark, brilliant contribution from Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, Gans' latest is melodically vibrant and engaging as hell, borne on the fluid textures of Carbone's players and encompassing a variety of styles. $13
