New Additions to the Catalog:

bc2008th The Black Crowes - Warpaint CD/Vinyl LP - Warpaint features 11 songs, all written by Chris and Rich Robinson except "God's Got It" by the Reverend Charlie Jackson. Two new band members - guitarist Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars) and keyboardist Adam McDougall - join Chris and Rich plus bassist Sven Pipien and drummer Steve Gorman. Limited edition picture disc vinyl in gatefold sleeve includes a 7-inch single with two bonus tracks not on the CD or LP ("Here Comes Daylight" and "Hole In Your Soul")! CD $14.98. 2-LP Vinyl $17.98.

lrdpth Laura Reed & Deep Pocket - Soul : Music CD - Featuring eleven new songs, Soul : Music traverses an enormous amount of musical ground. In the spirit of socially conscious acts such as Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, and the original vocal stylings of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and even contemporaries such as Amy Winehouse, Laura's captivating voice is given a perfect launch pad on which to soar, carried by the thick Hammond organ riffs of Ryan Burns, and the dynamic rhythm duo of Ben Didelot (bass) and Jim Bonk (drums). From the roof raising tracks "Well" and "Rise Up," to the laid back introspection of "Don't Go" and "Forces at Play," Soul : Music is a refreshing collection of new soul anthems, rooted deeply in honest expression and true musical passion. $12.00

cpk2th Connie Price & The Keystones - Tell Me Something CD/Vinyl LP - On the follow-up to Wildflowers, Connie Price and the Keystones step-up with a heavyweight, dynamic, soundtrack-inspired hip hop album. While their debut was instrumental, Tell Me Something is the opposite, featuring a marquee-filling list of quality MCs. The legendary Percee P, Wildchild from the Lootpack, Ubiquity-labelmate Ohmega Watts, Soup from Jurassic 5, Blood Of Abraham, Mykah 9 from the Freestyle Fellowship and Project Blowed, plus vocalist Aloe Blacc provide lyrics n’ rhymes. Having recently backed up Slick Rick, Brand Nubian and Too $hort live, CPK decided to take their live hip hop exploits into the studio. Channeling Wu-Tang and Madlib in equal parts to Schiffrin and Morricone, the album bobs and weaves through the head-nodding “Put Your Weight On It” and “Pirates of The Mediterranean” to the more frantic chase-scene tunes like “Hoagies Revenge” and “Master At Work.” Dramatic strings, brassy horns, and a driving percussion section pack a musical punch and leave a bigger impression often missing from “live” rap records. CD $17.98. LP Vinyl $16.98

doors5270th The Doors - Live in Pittsburgh 1970 CD - Recorded on May 2, 1970 at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena during The Doors' final tour with Jim Morrison as a lead vocalist, Live In Pittsburgh 1970 captures a spectacular concert performance from the legendary quartet. The single-disc tour de force features over an hour of incendiary energy from Morrison, Manzarek, Densmore, and Krieger as they take the audience on an epic musical journey. Along with classic hits and choice covers, this release features highlights such as a 22-minute version of "When The Music's Over." $18.98

bfth Blue Floyd - Begins (2 CDs) - Blue Floyd endeavors to de-construct the classic compositions of the legendary Pink Floyd into their primal, elemental form. As much an homage to the influence of Howlin' Wolf, Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters as a rediscovery of Floyd classics and rarities, Blue Floyd plays iconoclastic, familiar songs, heard again as if for the first time. Begins features the original line-up of Allen Woody (Gov't Mule/Allman Brothers Band), Matt Abts (Gov't Mule/Dickey Betts Band), Marc Ford (The Black Crowes), Johnny Neel (The Allman Brothers Band), and Berry Oakley Jr. (Robby Krieger/Bloodline). $18.98

ccl3th Chatham County Line - IV CD - New traditionalists Chatham County Line are back with their most ambitious album to date. The North Carolina quartet's fourth album is a boozy blend of Americana and loose acoustic rockers that exhibit the band's ever-evolving style. CCL continues their dedication to traditional instruments by using their love for bluegrass as a base on which to layer an eclectic blend of roots music. Bluegrass workouts like "The Carolinian" stand beside pop geared numbers such as "Chip of a Star" and the hard soul of "Birmingham Jail." The progression seen on IV is helped along by indie pop musician and producer Chris Stamey (Yo La Tengo, Alex Chilton, Alejandro Escovedo), making for a starkly heartfelt testament to making the past new again. $15.00

comet1th Comets on Fire - Field Recordings From the Sun CD - Completing our collection of COF! Ballistic isn't even enough to describe the kind of chaotic abandon that Comets on Fire create! Ripping rock psychedelia that knows no boundaries! $15.99
