Carolina Chocolate Drops presents Colored Aristocracy: Sankofa Strings CD - "Listening to them is like dropping the needle on a Victrola record." --Mitch Teich, Arizona Public Radio
Sankofa Strings came into being as a result of the first Black Banjo Gathering, held in Boone, NC in April 2005. Sule and Dom flew in from Arizona, and when they hooked up with Rhiannon, they knew great music was to be made! Two months later, in Arizona, they played their first gigs, and as they say, the rest was history. Four months later, after moving from AZ to NC, Dom joined Rhiannon and NC native Justin Robinson to form the Carolina Chocolate Drops, another proud exponent of the Black String Band Revival. $14.99

Featuring a world-class collection of musical talent including instrumental virtuosos David Grisman, Charlie Musselwhite, Bruce Forman, and slide-guitarist Roy Rogers, and produced by Grammy-winning roots music producer Chris Goldsmith, "Tangled Tales" delivers 8 great new original tunes that feel like instant Dan Hicks classics (and some choice cover tunes too). Eric Lindell - Gulf Coast Highway CD - Recorded at Balance Studio in Mandeville, Louisiana, Gulf Coast Highway, will capture the attention of music lovers all over the globe. Featuring 12 original songs and three inspired covers - Buck Owens ("Crying Time"), Delbert McClinton ("Here Come The Blues Again") and Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson ("I Can Get Off On You") -- Gulf Coast Highway finds Lindell reaching new performing and songwriting heights. His soul-drenched mix of roots-rock, sinewy blues, swampy R&B and a hint of honky-tonk soul permeates each and every song, and have led critics to make comparisons to Van Morrison and Delbert McClinton. The second time around, they reminded us why, and then astounded us all over again. $19.98
