Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival
The sister to the Fingerlakes Festival in Trumansburg NY, Shakori Hills is by far one of the best festivals I attend on a yearly basis. They hold a Spring & Fall festival, with fabulous bands each time. They lean more toward the folk/americana/bluegrass genres, but always throw in something special. Spring they had Richie Havens & Arrested Development amongst may other FINE acts...Donna the Buffalo is always there, one of the festival 'anchors' i like to call it...so definately check out the Fall Shakori Hills lineup, it is looking stellar:)

I have to say fall shakori this year was a lot of fun!! it just got a bit cold, but the music was amazing, as was the atmosphere :)
personally, I think the weather could not have been more perfect for a fall festival. Saturday was warm enough to wear shorts and a short sleeve t-shirt, or cool enough for a long sleeve & jeans...either way, all around comfort. I slept like a baby too!
Musical highlights were Holy Ghost Tent Revival, Preston Frank, No Strings Attached, Toubab Krewe, The Duhks, and Big Fat Gap, among many many awesome other acts!
And the people...well, all I can say is Shakori Hills has one of the best crowds of a festival I've ever been too...was great to see so very many old friends, and to have made a few new ones!
Can't wait til Spring!
