Announcing, The Donna Jean Godchaux Band with Jeff Mattson is shiny new, combining Muscle Shoals-soulful vocals with a legendary jamming lead guitar on original tunes and lots of Grateful Dead songs. The band includes David MacKay (from Muscle Shoals favorites The Fiddleworms) on bass, Joe Chirco (Long Island’s hardest working drummer) on percussion, and Mark Adler (filmscore composer, editor extraordinaire and long-time Heart of Gold Band member) on. Everybody Sings.
After her stint with the Grateful Dead, Donna Jean took some time off, but returned to performance in the ‘90s, eventually falling into a profound musical bond with Jeff Mattson of the Zen Tricksters. They’re seriously ready to rock.
