Floyd, VA – December 13, 2011 - The 11th annual music and arts festival that bears the moniker of its hometown of Floyd, Virginia, kicks off a second decade in July of 2012 with a bursting-at-the seams line-up of genre-spanning entertainment.

No ads, no commercials, no subscriptions…just bad ass music and a slick website with plenty of things to keep you busy.

The 2nd annual Blackwater Music Festival was again at the beautiful 'Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park'. The name "Blackwater" is said to have come from the deep dark color of the Suwannee River. The river is black because of the flow from the Okefenokee Swamp where it has become saturated with the tannins from billions of leaves, roots, and bark. The offset colors of the bleach white limestone walls that surround each side of the river make for an awe inspiring view which is a beautiful setting for a weekend of good music.

For 10 years Floydfest has given people an immersed diversity of culture, art and music that has broadened the minds and souls of all who have attended.

With inventive fusion, North Carolina-based Songs of Water has emerged from the Southeast with a sound both ancient and modern.

15 years and still as magical and breath-taking as ever Suwannee SpringFest captured the hearts of fans both young and old. This festival has what most festivals strive for and that’s a sense of community, bringing together those who love music, art and nature, in a magnificently serene place “The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground” near Live Oak FL.
