Frank Zappa - The Broadcast Archives (4CD)

One of the most eccentric yet brilliant performers and musicians of the rock age, Frank Zappa remains as legendary a musical artist as has ever emerged, and nearly 30 years since his tragically premature death, the great man is as popular as ever he was. This 4 disc celebratory collector's box set brings together some of the best Zappa live recordings, to date unreleased, which illustrate clearly the strength, breadth, and eclectic variety of the great man's music across his career. First up here, DISC ONE features recordings from Zappa's 1974 tour, collated by the man himself, and originally broadcast on 31st December '74 by WLIR FM New York. DISCS TWO & THREE house his 1974 show from Michigan State University, MI, played on 23rd November that year, while DISC FOUR contains a classic Halloween concert, from the New York Palladium, performed - of course - 31st October in 1977.
